Shine Dipped Snacks

A versatile recipe designed for smooth coating, glossy finish, and clean setting for your favorite dipped treats.

This formula is designed specifically for your favorite Shine Bake product, helping it behave more like a fine couverture chocolate while maintaining fluidity and snap for dipping applications.

Shine Dipping Base

Yield: ~140g Dipping Base

Enough for:

  • 10–12 strawberries

  • 20–25 pretzel rods or ~40 minis pretzels

  • 12–15 banana bites

Ingredients:

  • 120g Shine Bake DRK, LYT, or WYT

  • 20g Refined coconut oil

Optional flavor additions or toppings

  • Pinch flaky salt

  • Furikake (best with Shine WYT dipped Pretzels)

  • Espresso powder

  • Cinnamon

  • Freeze-dried fruit powder

Method:

1. Melt

In a heat proof bowl combine:

  • ALT chocolate

  • coconut oil

Melt gently:

  • over a double boiler—stirring constantly until fully melted

  • OR

  • microwave in 15-second intervals—Stir between each interval until fully melted

Target temperature:

  • 104–113°F/40–45°C

  • Be careful not to over heat.

Let cool until the mixture reaches:

  • 88–91°F / 31–33°C

2. Emulsify

Whisk until:

  • fully smooth

  • glossy

  • fluid enough for dipping

The chocolate should ribbon cleanly off a spoon.

If too thick:

  • add 2–3g coconut oil at a time

If too thin:

  • add small amounts of melted Shine Bake

Shine Dipped Strawberries

Yield: ~10–12 strawberries

Method:

  1. Wash strawberries and dry extremely well.

  2. Dip berries ¾ into chocolate.

  3. Twist slightly while lifting for an even coating.

  4. Garnish immediately if desired.

  5. Set on parchment paper.

Optional toppings:

  • flaky salt

  • toasted sesame

  • freeze-dried strawberry powder

  • crushed pretzel

Set:

  • room temp: ~20 min

  • fridge: 5–10 min

Shine Dipped Pretzels

Yield: ~20 pretzel rods OR ~40 mini pretzels

Method:

  1. Dip pretzels halfway into chocolate.

  2. Let excess drip off.

  3. Place onto parchment-lined tray.

  4. Garnish immediately.

Excellent with:

  • Furikake(if using shine WYT—trust us)

  • smoked salt

  • black sesame

  • cinnamon sugar

Set until firm.

Shine Dipped Bananas

Yield: ~12–15 banana slices OR 4 half-bananas

Method:

  1. Slice bananas into coins or halves.

  2. Freeze 15–20 minutes for easier dipping.

  3. Dip into chocolate.

  4. Garnish immediately.

  5. Chill until fully set.

Excellent with:

  • toasted coconut

  • granola

  • peanut crumble

**Pro Tip

For better dipping consistency during dipping:

  • hold bowl over warm water

  • stir frequently

  • keep chocolate between:

    •  88–91°F / 31–33°C

This prevents:

  • thickening

  • streaking

  • uneven coatings
